Happy Sunday, what a way to finish this week by posting about Kari & Daniel wedding that I captured back on May 20th, 2016 at Dunes West Golf & River Club Mount Pleasant, SC. I am blessed to be on the preferred vendor’s list, thanks to Jason Hanson, the Food & Beverage Director at Dunes West Golf & River Club Mount Pleasant, SC. I received a very nice wedding inquiry from a wonderful local bride Kari, via email back in June. She had done her due diligence in looking at the vendor’s list provided by Jason, and some major web searching for the perfect wedding photographer. We exchanged emails that lead to a meeting with Kari & Daniel. They had many questions and very good ones, and Daniel was very concerned about the town and city ordinance, such has who complied with the law as a wedding photographer, being that they were getting married in Mount Pleasant Sc, there was a Town of Mount Pleasant license required, there were also questions about Liability insurance. Once all of those terms were met, it was about our communication and the love that I have for capturing a wedding. Throughout the process, I captured their engagement session that was so much fun and then diligently working with them with the perfect wedding timeline and capturing their very special day. I also remember meeting them about the wedding timeline during fashion week, and Daniel had pulled up another competitor website in reference to showing me that they wanted a photo of all of their family and guest after the ceremony. Not to brag, but I took a plain jane example showed to me and created a true artiste image, as you will see below with a heart shape. Yes, no extra time but the creative juices I always have, just what I do best, pushing the envelope to have the best and very different images then what is the way to common in every Charleston Wedding photographer.
A little story about them from the bride and groom:
Daniel and I had our first date at Vickery’s on Shem Creek after exchanging emails daily through an online dating website. Daniel works as a police officer in Charleston and I work in a Pediatric Emergency Department as a registered nurse. Our enjoyment helping others in need lead us to easy conversation and the discovery of a strong bond and connection with each other. We discovered our love for traveling, sports, outdoor activities, and cooking. Daniel challenged me to run my first half marathon and with his encouragement and motivation, I ran the entire race. Our love blossomed during our trips to the Biltmore at Christmas and cruising in the Caribbean in the spring. During a dinner one night, a child at a table nearby saw us in our natural conversation and told her father, “that boy loves that girl.” Daniel proposed a few months later on a hiking trip to Rainbow Falls near Greenville. He raced to the top stepping over a snake without saying a word on the way to the top. I look back and chuckle at that moment because he was so determined. Daniel is a planner and always prepared so he knew exactly what to say and of course I said YES!!
Daniel and I always dreamed of a destination wedding but knew how important it was that both our families be present. When I found my sister was expecting I thought that Charleston would be the perfect destination. After a lengthy search for a wedding venue, we found a perfect place at Dunes West Country Club in Mount Pleasant. Next, we knew how important it was to find the great, trustworthy photographer to capture our special moments on our very exciting day. We were more than happy with our selection, Michel Berda, of King Street Wedding Photos. He exceeded our expectations with his wonderful services and we were beyond grateful for the services he provided on our wedding day. We exchanged our vows on May 20th, 2016 during our special ceremony surrounded by our families and close friends to witness our love for one another. Daniel and I walked hand in hand down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Penick and look forward to our new adventures together as husband and wife.
Thank you, Kari & Daniel, for your story, and to your lovely family and friends and awesome bridal party for making me a historian on your biggest day.Enjoy these amazing images I created for you all.
