Living on the east coast and being a storyteller as a wedding photographer in Charleston, SC can be the best and just simply amazing. When I think how lucky I am to all my past super nice clients that have given me this huge honor and opportunity to capture their weddings here in the Lowcountry.
As I blog today about another spectacular wedding this time, I am gifted to have this great opportunity to travel to Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head, SC. My clients Jeannette & Christian were very proactive and booked me a year in advance as I always recommend to most of my clients. We went to work early and I assisted them in planning their wedding day by creating a wedding day timeline. We had about 4 different drafts and when it was said and done they were very happy with the final wedding day timeline.
Upon arriving on their day at Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head, SC about 1.5 hrs before I was supposed to, I started as I always do, getting my equipment together and walking around the property. The forecast for this day was cloudy and thunderstorm throughout the day. As I got to Christian room the fellow’s groomsmen were very nice, we proceeded with going outside after pre photos and so far the weather was good. However as soon as I got to Jeannette room all of the bridesmaids were on their phone and talking about the weather, I could see in Jeannette eyes that this was a huge concern since the ceremony was going to be on the beach. With all that said yes the sky turned gray to black and lighting and rain came pouring down. However, God was on their side about 1.5 hours later as the bad weather passed while still being cloudy and they still were able to have their ceremony on the beach. With all that said and it is always like this when the bad weather goes away you get an incredible sunset, and because we had already allotted for that into the timeline, I was able to take the lovely couple outside for some of the most spectacular sunset photos I have ever captured, one side was totally orange and the other dark blue, being an artist I created some spectacular sunset wedding images for them. The reception in the ballroom was elegant, I provided the clients the photography for their photo booth without them having that extra expense and them proving the backdrop. As always Sonesta team lead by Kristen made the wedding nothing short of a perfect soiree, the evening was entertained by DJ Crush, who made sure everyone got on their feet and had a perfect evening.
Thank you, Jeannette and Christian, for giving me this amazing opportunity and honor, enjoy your wedding through my eyes.
Jeannette and Christian’s Story
It was a cold, rainy day in March 2014 when Christian walked into Starbucks in Wantagh, NY. He had arranged to meet Jeannette there after finding her on match.com. Knowing that Jeannette was a sport’s fan Christian walked up to the table saying “I respect the Mets, I despise the Yankees”; to which Jeannette responded, “Good thing I’m a Mets fan”. Conversation continued and Jeannette knew he was a keeper when he started to talk about which way to go around Epcot in Disneyworld. From that day on, they became inseparable.
A little less than two years later, February 2016, Jeannette and Christian went to Puerto Rico for vacation and to visit family. While walking in the water Christian twirls Jeannette around and asks her to marry him.
A year and a half later, with 75 close family and friends, Jeannette and Christian said I Do on the beach of the Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head South Carolina. They could not have planned such an amazing destination wedding without the support of their wonderful vendors.
