With this very busy wedding season, It has been such a long time since I posted a recent wedding. What better way then to write about this amazing wedding for such a beautiful couple, a wonderful Mom, and a great venue to make this the perfect blog post.
I received a wedding inquiry from Karean back in September of last year, I am always looking for that perfect wedding. I value and admire, family, a great theme, serenity, casual elegance and natural beauty, as I found out more from Karean about her magical day, and what it would entail such has a beautiful venue like The Westin Resort & Spa, in Hilton Head,Sc. A Mothers Day wedding weekend with some so cute little ones, the perfect beach theme, with her son walking her down the aisle, a fun bridal party, a color palette that screamed gorgeousness and to complete this wonderful family and friends, I accepted the commission immediately.
As I got on the property of The Westin Resort & Spa in HHI, which I always arrive to my weddings early generally 1.5 hrs prior, I met Karean, the children and her bridesmaids at The Heavenly Spa, while they were getting their hair and makeup done. As our timeline that we designed together allowed me to photograph many details, memories, of this great day. I am so very happy with the results that I captured for them. As I always do, I strive to exceed my clients expectation, in service and images as a master wedding photographer and being a true story teller, and always painting for the album for every wedding I photograph in all images as I edit them. I have displayed just that on this blog. You will see that there are so many incredible emotional and perfect images. Yes, I had a very hard time narrowing them down. Can you blame me?
A little story about them from the bride and groom:
Ben and I met while in college in 2003. Ben’s the reserved, quiet type and I’m the loud, outgoing type, so naturally we hit things off right away. We were young and having fun in our early years of college. For whatever reason, things didn’t work out for us and we went our separate ways. After dating on-off for a few years through college and after, we went almost 5 ½ years without any communication and a lot of life changes. Through all those years of having no contact with each other I thought about him often and wondered where life had taken him. If he was married, if he finally did it and joined the marines but mainly if he was happy. One night I received a late night phone call from Ben that simply said, “I love you.” After thinking about the message for quite sometime I finally did something about it and called him back. I knew he was the one and know was our time. When I saw him for the first time after so many years, I ran and gave him a huge hug. A hug I didn’t realize I needed or wanted for so long. After about a year of doing long distance, Ben moved from St. Louis to Kansas City to be with my son & I. Once he was here things moved rather quickly. He proposed in 2014 while we were setting up the Christmas tree with an ornament that said, “I’ve loved you for a 1,000 years, and I’ll love you a 1,000 more.” Will you marry me? And of course I said yes! We added our daughter to the family in March of 2015, to make us a happy family of 4. Being with Ben makes me want to be a better person everyday. It’s so incredible that I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and finally call him my husband! I can’t wait to see what life has in store for us!
Thank you Karean & Ben, and your lovely children and family and friends for making me a historian on your biggest day.
