Today, I am honored to publish this Hilton Head Island wedding for Beth & Billy at the lovely wedding venue called Palmetto Dunes. Every once in a while you get a great feel for a wedding that encompasses what we all live for our children. This blog will fill your heart with love, compassion and happy tears for this family.
Being blessed to be on the preferred vendor’s list for Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head Island, SC many wedding clients will often see that, and some will find me by searching the web and see my wedding images and amazing blogs about this wedding venue everywhere. I can honestly say that 8 out of 10 clients will give me the honor and privilege to capture their wedding at this lovely venue. Many clients value my art and passion for wedding photography as the best investment they can make. Having almost two decades of wedding photography with huge knowledge by also being a master lighting expert, beach weddings and sunset are a pure match for my style of giving breathtaking wedding images that all wedding clients will cherish forever.
This brings me to Beth & Billy who booked my wedding photography services about 5 months prior to her wedding day. I was very fortunate to not be booked for their day. As we got very close to their wedding date the panic kicked in for all of us wedding vendors and our client being that hurricane Michael was due on their wedding day. We all got super lucky as it passed and missed Hilton Head Island. On that day, I showed up to start with pre photos of Beth & her bridesmaids and the super cute kids. Once that was captured I met Billy and his groomsmen. The ceremony was just perfect, as the amazing sunset began, I was able to capture amazing family portrait photos and what I do best give both Beth & Billy sunset couple photos that they will never forget. DJ Crush and the Courtney the coordinator for Palmetto Dunes gave Beth & Billy family and friends the most enjoyable reception. All & all we accomplished the best wedding day for our great clients.
Now in their own words from Beth & Billy is how this day became one;
Billy and I went to high school together back in Madison, Ohio. We were 2 years apart in school, and while we knew of each other and had mutual friends, that was the extent of our relationship at that point in our lives. Years later we reconnected on social media. About 3 years ago when Billy was working as an administrator and athletic director in AZ and I was back in OH, we started dating. We spent the next year FaceTiming and traveling across the country whenever we could to see each other. This is where we began our love of traveling and enjoying adventures together. One of our most memorable adventures came that first spring together when we spent 3 days hiking Havasupai Falls in the Grand Canyon. We rescued a dog there (we names him Guinness) after he followed us 10 miles out of the Grand Canyon. Guinness was destined to be ours. He was the beginning of our lives forever connected. That summer Guinness came to live in Ohio with me and my kids Joey and Mia. Shortly after, fate brought Billy back to our hometown for an opportunity to be an administrator in the very high school we had both grown up at. He immediately developed a connection with my daughter, Mia, and soon after with my son, Joey. The next summer Billy proposed, along with the help of the kids, at his parents house in Myrtle Beach while we were there for his family reunion. I knew I wanted a beach wedding, and Billy immediately suggested a southern beach wedding in Hilton Head Island. While I had never been, it seemed perfect to me. Upon talking to Courtney at The Dunes House, I knew it was the perfect place for our beach wedding. I was marrying the love of my life and Billy was marrying his dream girl from high school.
