Aww Labor Day, one of the busiest wedding weekend ever, as I am back again posting this blog for my amazing clients Laura & Steven Arnold. Hilton Head Island, has such beauty in many ways, more importantly, next to Charleston Sc, many new couples every year get married on this majestic island. I had the pleasure back in January, receiving a phone call from Laura, who is a very talented person and runs a very successful Publishing company with her Mom in Pittsburgh Pa.
Laura is very familiar with photography, she knew that not just any wedding photographer would do, but someone who had extensive experience, and talent in capturing this one only magical day. I am honored and very thankful and blessed she chose me.
From the bride:
Steve and I met in Pittsburgh in December 2011 and I think we knew right away that we were meant for each other. We spend almost every day together for the next year and Steve asked me to marry him on December 22nd, 2012, just a little over a year after our first date. It was by far the happiest day of my life up to that point.
Ever since I was 11 years old and my parents took me, my brother and sister to Hilton Head Island for the first time, I had a dream of getting married on the beautiful island we all called our second home. 20 years later, my dream came true with my mom and dad, my sister her and her family and my brother and his family all by my side! We were able to share the experience with Steve’s family and 80 of our closest family and friends! This now became the happiest day of my life! August 31st, 2013 was the day and it was absolutely perfect! From the church to the flowers at the reception hall to the beach goers wishing us many happy years to come, the day went off without a hitch.
It was amazing how helpful every venue in Hilton Head Island was when we visited to make plans for the wedding in February 2013, as I had already booked Michel Berda in January, since he was in most of the venues, preferred wedding photographer vendors list, my mom and I set up a meeting with Michel Berda and we knew we hired a great photographer! My father told me the only things we are going to take from this day are our memories and our pictures so make sure we hire a great photographer and we sure did! The pictures speak for themselves on the professionalism, amazing quality, skill, and artistic ability of Michel. It was a relief to have him as part of my wedding day.
As for the venue, it was perfect! We looked at about 12 different venues on Hilton Head Island, and it is was so hard to pick one until I saw Shipyard Beach Club, that’s when I knew I found it! It offered the right amount of space for my 80 guests with a separate bar and area for food as well as the outside deck. Being from the North, I had to offer my northern guest some reprieve from the August heat and Shipyard Beach Club is an indoor facility with an absolutely amazing beach front deck with the best view on the island! The closest structure on the island to the beach actually! It is located next to the newly remodeled Sonesta Resort so my guests were able to walk safely to their hotels after the festivities.
My flowers from Flowers by Sue were AMAZING! I met with Sue only 1 time and she was able to capture exactly what I wanted (and didn’t even know I wanted) in our 45-minute meeting. I was so surprised and would have never imagined how beautiful the arrangements and bouquets turned out. They were truly a work of art and it was so nice not to have to stress about any of the details knowing that we were working with such a professional team!
