This wedding at Magnolia Plantation was so special for me, as I had the privilege and honor to meet two great individuals, Megan & Ryan, I got an email from Megan asking about my services, and soon found myself speaking to Ryan, we hit it off right away when he told me that he was in the arm forces and spoke many different languages, we ended the conversation speaking French. The wedding day was noting short of perfect as I begun to photograph Ryan, then before going to photograph Megan, he pulled me to the side and asked me to do something I had never been asked to do in my 14 years of photographing wedding. Once he explained the reason, I ran with his idea. Here I sat for the second time of almost actually crying while recording this so important moment of two people love with there eyes closed, holding each other hands, before the ceremony, listening to this words from Ryan, I quote” “Dear Lord, thank you for bringing us together and thank you for this day and the family and friends that are here to share it with us. We pray that you will grant us love and happiness, that you will always help us to remember our love for each other, and that you will allow us to grow closer to you as we grow closer to each other. Amen”
Ryan and Megan met a year after Ryan graduated from West Point while Megan, was still in school at Florida State University. The first year was a big party as Ryan would bring friends to FSU to meet Megan’s sorority sisters. The second year involved Ryan’s deployment to Iraq, a very emotionally trying time for both of them. Ryan is a First Lieutenant, Airborne Ranger in the 75th Ranger Regiment and Megan is a Dietitian. Ryan proposed to Megan on his 2-week leave from the deployment and they were married a year later on April 14, 2012! Ryan and Megan both had their sibling as Maid of Honor (Cassy) and Best Man (Peter). Megan wore a dress by Romona Keveza, Veil, from a boutique named Love in Jacksonville, shoes by Steve Madden, color theme, pink and yellow, they wanted an outdoor, garden wedding surrounded by flowers and greenery, needless to say, Magnolia is breathtaking and was a perfect choice!
